Introduction to CSTM
CSTM is the command mode version of STM, the utility that replaces SYSDIAG in MPE/iX Release 6.5.
I have included here a dialog illustrating how to get a memory map of a system.
This is the procedure used on MPE/iX 6.0 and earlier releases:
:sysdiag
DUI> sysmap
SYSMAP> memmap
This is the new procedure for MPE/iX 6.5 and later releases:
>:cstm
Running Command File (/usr/sbin/stm/ui/config/.stmrc).
This operation may take approximately one minute.

† The device number corresponds to the number in the first column of the I/O map. These numbers are sequentially assigned by CSTM and have no correlation to LDEV numbers. For systems with memory extender cards plugged into multiple slots you can issue as many SELECT DEVICE commands as needed.
†† The INFO command directs CSTM to create an information log file for the selected device(s). The following command INFOLOG instructs CSTM to format the previously generated log file. It is sometimes necessary to wait a minute or so for the INFO command to complete before executing the INFOLOG command.
There is also a wealth of information available regarding disc and tape drives under CSTM using the INFO command that requires running a utility under SYSDIAG. You can see the device status, read and write error counts, and firmware revision.
